Diese Aborigine Geschichte erzählt vom Teilen.
In der Traumzeit, zu Anfang der Welt waren alle Geschöpfe Tiere. Der Blauzungen Lizzard, Bangara, war der einzige der Wasser hatte. Alle anderen Tiere mussten Gras essen, wenn sie durstig waren. Eines Tages haben die Tiere Bangarra angesprochen und von ihm Wasser verlangt. „Ich habe kein Wasser, ganz wie Ihr“ hat er geantwortet.“Du hast ganz nasse Barthaare“ haben die anderen Tiere gerufen und beschlossen herauszufinden, wo Bangarra das Wasser versteckt hielt. Als Bangarra fort ging, haben verschiedene Tiere versucht ihm zu folgen. Bangarra hat es aber immer gemerkt und sofort die Richtung geändert. Bis sich das kleinste Tier, Galu, die Maus zur Verfolgung aufmachte. Bangarra war schlau, aber Galu war schlauer. Jedesmal wenn Bangarra sich nach hinten umdrehte, ist Galu schnell über den Schwanz von Bangarra auf die andere Seite gehüpft. So kam es, dass Bangarra sein Waterloch aufsuchte und den Stein darüber etwas zur Seite stiess. Darauf quietschte Galu laut: „Waser, Wasser, Wasser, wir haben Wasser!!!“ Vom Lärm alarmiert, kam die Schwalbe angeflogen und hat Schnabel um Schnabel voll Wasser über das Land getragen und fallen gelassen und Flüsse und Seen gebildet. Jetzt hatten alle Tiere Zugang zum Wasser und Bangarra schämte sich wegen seiner Eigensucht.

This Aborigine tale tells of sharing
In the time of creation all living things were animals. The bluetongue lizard, Bangaarra, was the only one who had water. Al the other animals had to eat grass, when they were thirsty. One day the animals decided to ask Bangarra for some water. “What do you mean? I do not have any water, just like you” did he reply. “Your whiskers are all wet, how come?” Bangarra grumpily turned away. The other animals decided to follow Bangarra in order to find the hiding place of his water. They failed miserably, Bangarra discovered them everytime and went somewhere else. Until the smallest fo the all, the mouse, Galu to up the pursuit. Bangarra was clever, but Galu was even cleverer. Every time the suspicious Bangarra turned around, little Galu quickly jumped over Bangarras tail to the other side and so evaded detection. So Bangaarra went to his waterhole and took away the covering stone. When Galu saw the water he squealed with joy: “Water, water for us all”! Alarmed by the racket the swallow came flying in and took beaks full of water and flew of the land. It created lots of lakes and rivers and all animals now had water. Bangarra was ashamed about his selfishness.
