Nicht nur Pneus können überraschen, auch Elektrisch hat’s in sich. Als ich den Stecker des Strom Zuführkabels aus dem Wohnwagenstecker ziehen wollte leistete der erbitterten Widderstand. Alles Ziehen und Zerren nützte nichts. Beat musste schweres Geschütz auffahren und kam mit dem Stemmeisen an. Ein Schraubenzieher tat es dann auch und endlich barst der Stecker aus der Dose. Allerdings fehlte ihm ein Zahn, der blieb in der Dose; er war angeschmolzen. Keine Sicherung hat‘s gemerkt und glücklicherweise hat’s auch nicht gebrannt. Wie bis jetzt immer im Outback, das war no problem. Ein Elektriker, der kurz vor den Fischer- Ferien mit seinem selbstgebauten Hausboot stand, hat uns unkompliziert in seinem Hinterhof eine neue Dose eingebaut und einen neuen Stecker montiert. No worries, Mate.

Electrical power

Not only tyres are good for a surprise, electrical power also has its merits. When I tried to prise the plug of our external electrical lead out of the socket in the caravan, it resisted with a vengeance. All my pulling and tearing was of no avail. Beat had to bring the heavy troops. He came with a crowbar. Finally a screwdriver did the job and finally the plug gave and came out. Albeit with one tooth missing. The socket had partially melted and entrapped one tooth. No fuse was the wiser and luckily there was no fire. As always in the Outback, this was no problem. An electrician, who just wanted to go on a fishing vacation with his selfmade houseboat, agreed to fix us up in his back shed. New plug, new socket, no worries, Mate.
